Well, here we are at what they referred to back in the Old Days as the "Dog Days of Summer:" The Old Farmers Almanac specifically pointed to the dates of July 3 - August 11 as the "Dog Days of Summer". The history of the Dog Days of Summer even goes back to Greek times and the Star Sirius - the Dog Star.
